Ann L. Wells was born in England, raised in California and has lived in Illinois for over 20 years. Thirty years ago Ann started doing family research in response to her father-in-law not knowing anything about his family. That has revolved into being a professional researcher who no longer has much time to do the family research.
Ann has taken a number of classes related to genealogy or history, attends at least one major genealogical conference each year and a number of smaller, more local conferences. In addition Ann has attended a number of institutes focusing on various areas of genealogical research.
Currently, Ann is treasurer of the International Society for British Genealogy and Family History (ISBGFH), Director of the British Institute held in Salt Lake City every October, President of McHenry County Illinois Genealogical Society (MCIGS), a director of the Illinois State Genealogical Society (ISGS) and is a past president of the British Interest Group of Wisconsin and Illinois (BIGWILL).
Helping people to find their ancestors and family history is the purpose of Wells Research Associates. Ann and her associates try to encourage everyone to know more about their families, either by doing the research for the client or encouraging and offering suggestions for the client to do the research.
